Pickling is one of the methods of metal surface clearning. Many metal parts are going through a hot process that occur at high temperatures leave a discoloring oxide layer or scale on the surface. In order to remove the scale the workpiece is dipped into a vat of pickle liquor. There are three general pickling methods, namely, dipping pickling, spray pickling and acid cream pickling.
Sometiems, steel ball need to be clearn by the dipping pickling method. Due to oxidation serve on the surface of steel balls, it is prone to rust and corrosion on the surface. After steel balls gone through pickling, the metal surface will be bright again and it cover a piece of passivation film on the surface of steel ball, which can improve the anti-corrosion of the steel ball.
